Open Convenctant® Drying or Closed Dehumidification
The greatest benefit to using Water Out® is
the final product. Water Out® uses fresh outside
air as the drying source. The outside air is conditioned
within the Water Out® trailer and
introduced into a flooded building at about 2%RH
(relative humidity). This super-dry air
is circulated through a flooded building and then
exhausted to the outside. This "open drying" system
leaves a clean, dry building in the shortest
possible amount of time. Refrigerant and desiccant
dehumidifiers are "closed systems." A "closed" dehumidification
system recycles the
same indoor air over and over and
allows unpleasant odors and mold spores to
build up. Closed dehumidification systems
can spread contaminated air throughout a building and transfer
biological contaminants from one job to the next. Drying with fresh outside air or recirculating
contaminated air? Indoor air quality experts agree; Water Out®
wins hands down.
